  • Kenny Trapp Named 2019-20 Division II Golf Pride Grips WGCA National Coach of the Year

    The Women’s Golf Coaches Association has announced that Kenny Trapp, head coach of the Dallas Baptist University Patriots, has been named the 2019-20 Golf Pride Grips WGCA National Coach of the Year for Division II women’s collegiate golf.

    Trapp recently completed his 15th season at Dallas Baptist University in 2019-20, finishing the shortened season with four consecutive tournament wins. The Patriots won six of the eight tournaments they competed in and finished in the top-three in all eight of them, tallying three individual wins along the way. The team’s four WGCA All-American selections was the most of any Division II program.

     

    In addition, the WGCA has announced the 2019-20 Golf Pride Grips WGCA Regional Coaches of the Year. The 2019-20 Golf Pride Grips WGCA Regional Coaches of the Year are as follows:

     

    South Region Coach of the Year: Missey Jones, University of Tampa

    East Region Coach of the Year: Brent Nicoson, University of Indianapolis

    West Region Coach of the Year: Kenny Trapp, Dallas Baptist University

    Central Region Co-Coaches of the Year: Amy Anderson, Arkansas Tech University and Michael Bond, University of Central Oklahoma
